Design Communication
Design communication is the art and science of translating ideas, concepts, and visions into a language that resonates visually and emotionally. In the dynamic realm of design, where creativity meets functionality, effective communication is the bridge that connects the imagination of creators with the understanding of observers. It goes beyond the mere conveyance of information;
Project 1:Starchitect
This project is about selecting a starchitect from a list and researching to find out information about his or her style and personalities as well as three buildings he or she has designed, integrating the information and then hand-drawing them onto a piece of A3 graphic paper. This project is mainly to enhance freehand skills by combining self-expression, object drawing, architectural lettering, tonal values, rendering, and coloring techniques.
I choose Le Corbusier as my starchitect as he allows me to delve into the narrative of a visionary architect, exploring his contributions, challenges, and enduring impact on the world of design and architecture. It's an opportunity to draw inspiration from a significant figure whose work continues to shape the way we perceive and interact with the built environment.
Project 2 : Farnsworth House
In this project, we are going to produce 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional drawings using orthographic projections, axonometry and perspectives in three phases manually and continuously. The purpose is to explore manual projection methods in architectural drawing emphasizing on architectural conventions, symbols and line quality.
This project is to be introduce design communication skills through architectural graphics and develop skills in visualization and communication of architectural idea, space and form.
Besides, it trains my illustration of architectural forms and spaces through visualization and expression of space in the form of manual drawing and interpret visual information using two-dimensional and three-dimensional orthographic drawings
Project 3 : Presentation Board and Model Making Process
Presentation boards are a tool to showcase your work. They are a way to draw the viewers into the design process and methods, providing an overall summary and vision for the project. It is basically a medium that are communicating the design and showcasing artistic skills, and sense as a designer.
Architectural model is a tool often used to express a building design or masterplan. The model represents architectural ideas, and can be used at all stages of design. An architectural model shows the scale and physical presence of the design
From this project, I learnt to introduce and developed 3D modelling for architectural design project.
and develop skills in visualization and communication of architectural idea, space and form. I also learnt to ilustrate architectural forms and spaces through visualization and expression of space in the form of 3D Modelling and. produce visual compositions, and model for architectural design project.

Reflection
Learning this module reflects on my journey of learning design communication, it becomes evident that it is far more than a technical skill; it is an art form that intertwines creativity, functionality, and effective storytelling.It's not just about creating aesthetically pleasing visuals; it's about telling a compelling story that resonates with the intended audience and brings a vision to life. As I continue to refine my skills, I am reminded that the learning process in design is continuous, and each project is an opportunity to grow, adapt, and communicate more effectively.
